The main objectives of SBGEA are:
- To assemble students and researchers of Space Geophysics and Aeronomy in Brazil;
- Look after the prestige of science in Brazil;
- Stimulate research in Space Geophysics and Aeronomy;
- Maintain contact with the institutes and associations of Space Geophysics and Aeronomy and related sciences, from the country and abroad;
- Encourage and promote exchanges between professionals in Brazil and all nations;
- Promote scientific meetings, symposia, specialized congresses, conferences, courses and related activities, including scientific dissemination;
- Publication of scientific and didactic works, in the field of Space Geophysics and Aeronomy;
- Publish bulletins on the activities of the Brazilian Association of Space Geophysics and Aeronomy and on general subjects related to the development of Space Geophysics and Aeronomy;
- Stimulate the dissemination of knowledge of Space Geophysics and Aeronomy through the publication of books, texts, monographs, as well as through the press, radio, television and the internet;
- Stimulate the best use and distribution of scientific personnel in the field of Space Geophysics and Aeronomy, as well as the best planning of the training of specialists necessary for the development of the country.
